Color and Nature are a huge part of my life. My work is a strong example of my true connection with the extreme elements of the environment. I have always viewed the gems of this beautiful planet with an imaginitive perception. When I see a tree, I see a path with curves that can lead my eyes to far reaching places. When I look up at the sky, I see layers of color that lift my mood. When I paint, I let the tools do most of the work. The connection between the paint and the brush is an essential part of my creative process. I tend to hibernate my brain and allow my hands to bring those essential pieces together.
My father has been a strong influence in my life. He is an amazing artist! I remember painting with him when I was a young child. He taught me many of the techniques that I use, and opened up my eyes to a world of color and texture. I hope to paint with my children someday and teach them the joy that I experience when opening up the creative gate to the boundless possibilities of creation.
I work in a stressful environment and I use art as a way to de-stress. Art will never ask me to work late, it will never ask me to make a phone call, but it will always provide me with a sweet escape.
